Sources for Bait.....?

I am preparing for my second season of running my own bait. I am absolutely hooked! I am interested in suggestions for bait sources. I ran the day old bread stores line last year with some success, and also the local drive in gave away their grease. Anybody have any other suggestions for obtaining bait? I'd like to get a source for meat scraps, fish, and other smelly stuff this year. I found out I can't use the catfish scraps I've been saving all year (catfish is considered a "game fish" in Idaho).

Matt try the local Butcher places. I live in Idaho and they will let you have all the scraps you want. A suggestion though. mkae sure you dont get meat on bones. As the bears will haul the bones off and have food to chew on till dark. Bread I get from the day old bread stores. Grease from local pool hall that fixes lunches and stuff.
Good luck

Day old donuts are usually pretty cheap. Tim Hortons (Canada) sells them by the garbage bag full if you talk to the store manager in advance. Often for a charity event they'll give them away, but probably not for hunting bait.

I go to the bread stores and tell them I want hog feed. They have never questioned me on it. But a couple ladies in there know why I use it and I will clean them out of bread. If I get to much I give it to friends that use it. I have never once not taken what they have to offer so they like me when I come in. I have bought up 7 fullracks of bread at one time. So just tell them its hog feed.

Here is a pic of my bait I got yesterday. It gave me around 800 pds of bread and donuts. Now I will go get around 10 gallons of grease and I am set.

I will be baiting more than one site this year also. So I am getting 2 more pickup loads. And I pour 10 gallons of grease on it every time I go in to check bait. I will use roughly on 1 site around 50 gallons of grease as I bait it till the last week of the season then hunt the last week. Also will be putting up trail cams for pics to so be expecting pics being posted.
