Someplace to hunt

Looking for someplace to hunt in Southwest USA. Preferably do-it-yourself. And where licenses may still be available. Anyone got any ideas? I and my partner have big game hunted for about 30 years until heart problems disabled me. Ready to try again, but things have changed a lot. Have hunted whitetail, muleys, antelope, black bear, and elk (all successfully) in past in Montana, Utah, Colorado, and Canada. Looking to get back into it.  Confused

New Mexico should have some

New Mexico should have some left over tags. Check out their website.

Arizona has over the counter

Arizona has over the counter archery deer tags for most units. You can probably also get a leftover rifle deer tag for some of the southern units.  They dont have a lot of mulies down there but the coues deer hunting is some of the best in the world.  Fall Bear is also over the counter.

Thumbs up!

Kudos to you for not giving up on what you, and a lot of us, really enjoy!  It looks like several others have already posted the opportunites that I would have mentioned.  I think I might even try my hand at the coues deer this or next season.  Southern Arizona is convenient enough for me since I am in Southern California and I have heard that they are one of the most challenging and rewards hunts to take part in.

Good luck in your choice and on your hunt!

Now that you mention it, I

Now that you mention it, I might even try coues deer in AZ next year. The drive wouln't be that far from El Paso and the terrain would be similar to what we have down here. Cool!!!!!!! Thumbs up
