from a recent scouting/camping trip.

A look down from 10,500 ft.....

Had this little guy hanging around camp...at one point he came 10 feet from me, but the camera was not handy.

Here he found something in the bushes but he missed!!

Also this guy hanging around camp!!

Some other deer. Did not see any elk but they were there!!!!!!!!

I had seen some other real nice bucks, but as the big ones do they do not hang around long enough to snap a pic!

Nice man, I'm pumped. Can't wait til the seasons begin in two weeks. Got a big scouting trip scheduled next weekend, but it's the last I'm gonna be able to take to my elk spot before archery season (I won't be bowhunting, but it's the last look at the place without hunters I'll get for the year). Glad to see you're getting out, putting some boots on the ground. The sweat you expend now will pay off come October.

Our season started yesterday. 104 deg F by mid-day (Sand Road). Current Conditions 92 and climbing, clear, wind WSW 22 mph. I worshipped God with all of my being in church earlier today. In that spirit I think I will grab one of my firearms, or maybe two, and head out, looking for the thing I love.

... in my opinion, the drive to E.C. (and especially in October) is one of the most beautiful on the planet. It is very big country once you get there. I have not hunted that area. Maybe start a new forum string and see what people contribute.

Great pics.

Those were some great pics. I'm going after this guy beginning on Saturday. This will be my first bowhunting trip.
