Some CA and WA elk pics

Was going through some pics I had and thought I post this pic up. Its of some Tule elk from a breading herd that ran a ranch I hog hunted. Saw them most every trip out. Heck of a nice Alph bull. The old Alpha was poached by a local farm worker, who was caught and jailed as this this a breading herd only, a massive 8x7. But this new guy is no small bull eithor.
Took this in Sep. 05.

These pics I took back in Dec. 04 at the Elk feeding station just outside of Yakima, WA on the road to White Pass.

I used to take the wife and kids down to the Tule elk preserve observation area southwest of Bakersfield off the I-5. They loved watching all the elk doing what they do best, being elk. The areas I hunted both public and that 1 private ranch had several bread herds roaming around. They are doing a good job with the comeback efferts. Tags are still hard to draw but well worth it when ya do.
