Hard choice. I shoot a primitive muzzleloader, so i'm hunting in the rut. Much easier to find the elk, and weather is almost perfect. I don't have to get as close as you would with a bow, but I do limit my shots to less than 75 yds. The early seasons do have their advantages. You just can't take those long shots. That doesn't bother me, but some consider it a handicap.


Your choice. The rifle seasons can get pretty crowded, and the weather can be a killer.
