Atomikall, because this post was not as bad as most we've seen. Part of our job as sportsmen/women is to help educate the public. This is a public forum and anybody can wander in and post. We don't automatically delete everything that does not fit our views on hunting/guns. We do find it odd when a non-hunter wanders in and feels compelled to post his ideas.

He did post under Anything Goes...

maybe there should be a section you could move these posts to where we wont fall for thier bs thread names and read thier anti-hunting rhetoric, you could call it "the garbage bin"

The part about there being places where doe hunting is not allowed but should be allowed is correct. In areas of northern Arkansas, doe hunting is intensely restricted, despite the fact that does run rampant there. They do not appear to contribute to any ecological stresses, however.

It seems to me that in many areas where deer actually cause property damages, such as to crops, gardens, lawns, etc, hunting pressure is low or nonexistant.

What I read was another biased selection of facts.
Again, humans are as much a part of the eco-system as any other creature on this earth. Humans are over populating and using more land. Leaving less and less with every generation for every thing else. It's not that there are more or less game animals. The problem, if there is one, is there are fewer and fewer of the types of environments that these earthen creatures need to habitate.
If we keep destroying the habitats to build our farms, our shopping centers, our over priced housing developments, our over priced land developements, etc...., etc....., etc.....Everything is about money. Where are they going to go.
It is not a situation that should be placed solely on hunting. Hunting and game management have very little, if anything to do with it.
Again. The human population is overwhelming the land, in the name of money. Our forests are disappearing at an alarming rate. Leaving less habitat. Of course the forest animals will congregate. Where else are they going to go. Of course they are going to be hit by vehicles, we built a road across their feeding paths. If we cut down their food to build a farm. They will be eating at the farm. We've taken so much and not given much back.
Hunting is being used as an escape goat. We are not willing to look at the irresponsible uses of our resources, in the name of greed and speed.
If this problem persists. The money mongers of the planet are the ones that need to questioned. The resources of the planet were/are here.
Quit trying to lay the blame on a game control and hunting. We/they are just trying to make due with what is left from this self destructive lifestyle we all seem to admire. Wake up. Start taking some responsibility or it's going to be gone. All of it. Not just the hunting.

Alchemistic should open a link to this forum he/she is referring to. It may be their personnal opinion and not a forum at all.

Another thing I caught in the original post was something about bluefin tuna being depleted. What does this have to do with hunting?

If there is an underlying vegetarian issue present in this, allow me to clear several things up. Just because someone does not eat meat or support the slaughter of animals for their flesh, it does not make them a savior of animals. Agricultural fields for growing crops are needed, otherwise, where will all the vegetables come from? That means viable animal habitat must be sacrificed in order for those fields to be present. There must also be more and more of them to meet the needs of an ever-growing population.

A vegetarian still owns a home and a car, generally speaking, The place their home was built was at one time animal habitat. The car the vegetarian drives produces as much pollution as anyone elses, and their trash still goes to the dump, AND their sewage goes where everyone elses does. The bottom line is nature does not benefit from this lifestyle at all. Makes no difference whatsoever.

Drilling in the Arctic Wildlife Refuge is not a decision made by hunters, it was made by greedy oil companies. As a hunter, the idea of destroying and disrupting pristine wilderness like that disgusts me. They go on TV and say how it will not have much ecological impact at all and so forth. NONSENSE! Of course they would say that! They aren't going to announce ''oh well, so what if tear up the place something awful, we're going to rake in a bundle!''

I agree with fuzzybear 100 percent when he says that greed, not the hunting of game animals for sport and meat, is what is destroying the planet.
