Snaring Coyotes

What's up guys! I have a few questions for you coyote trappers out there. First thing, is snaring a viable option. Second, how big of a snare is recommended for coyotes. Third, any and all tips and advice is welcomed!

Snares

Welcome to the forum. Snaring is a vary viable option and many ways is the best way to go. Where traps can get shutdown due to bad weather, snares continue to work. Plus they are usually quick and easy sets, require no bait or scent. Many times the snare will kill the coyote for you as well instead of dispatching yourself. If you can find there paths they can be awesome. Look for paths through gaps in fences, heavy brush, and weeds. If you are snaring in deer country make sure to use a jump stick or if you are snaring a popular deer trail, other wise you might be wrestling a deer which isn't as fun as it sounds. It will take some practice to get the hand of setting snares eficiently and sometimes they will get nocked down. I always did snares with traps but I didn't just put a snare anywhere, it had to be a good trail or bottle neck where lots of predators would be going through it. I don't remember the size gauge of cable to use of the top of my head. Maybe someone else can fill you in there or google it.
