I can't say I have a favorite

I can't say I have a favorite small game to hunt...it's the one I'm hunting that day.

I like hunting rabbits in front of dogs.

Floating down the creek shooting squirrels or just getting all the guys together to hunt them.

I've been seeing several fox squirrels lately and would like to get one mounted so I think I'll take a day off of deer hunting to hunt them...after the rut of course.

I always wanted to hunt grouse but I don't know where in the NC mountains to start the hunt. Any NC grouse hunters on here?

I don't hunt squirrels, but

I don't hunt squirrels, but during deer season I always think about killing one or two.  They can be so annoying with the rustling of leaves making you think a deer is coming in or their sometimes constant chatter and worse as they hop from tree to tree and one of those trees is yours.  I am always worried that they are going to jump on me.  Maybe I should take up squirrel hunting?

CVC, I had a squirrel use the end of my barrel as a stepping "stone" once while turkey hunting. It was all I could do to keep from laughing but the gobbler was firing off, so I somehow kept my cool.
I could see him coming from a ways off. He would jump from tree to tree then run on the ground a few steps before leaping tree to tree again. I was situated with my gun barrel resting on my knee perfectly between two oaks. He leaped on the tree to my left, jumped to my gun barrel and on to the other oak, never realizing what he had done. I watched as he skipped from tree to tree as he went out of sight.

Now that is funny.. I made me

Now that is funny.. I made me laugh out loud thinking about it and you trying to keep your composure to get the turkey.  Imagine the squirrel's reaction if he leapt onto your barrel just as you shot.  I wish deer were as unwary as those pesky squirrels.

Yea, but then it wouldn't be

Yea, but then it wouldn't be a challenge for us to hint them. It would get boring quick.

Rabbits are definately my

Rabbits are definately my favorite and the one I have the most available to me.

I enjoyed squirrel hunting when I was a kid but only have the little pine squirrels where I live now.

I plan to look into Aberts squirrel hunting or some fox squirrels on the eastern side when I get a chance.
