Up until about a two years ago every rifle I own had a Hunter brand "220" military style sling on it. I would pick them up used at gun shows or where ever, but they have gotten hard to find. Haven't found a store that stocks Hunter brand leathers around here.
Two years back I bought a Montana sling for a new rifle and have since switched all of the rifles I use to the 1.25" model. They have a unique leather knot that allows for instant length adjustments and they don't have any metal hooks like the Hunter 220. I shoot with it all the time. The leather is very good quality, none of that plastic coated crap that you find on the "Uncle Mikes" slings. It takes Neatsfoot oil real well and they are very comfortable to carry once softened up, but still stiff enough to shoot with. I don't work for them, I just think they make a great product.
