I'm pretty sure sit and wait in an area know to have animals is the best method. Unfortunatelly I was never able to sit still that long so I'd move around. If you can sit and wait, your chances go up in my opinion. Don't chase the game, let the game come to you!

I agree with the sit and waite but for us it is the only way to hunt becase we only have so much acerage we can hunt on. if we start to stock then we run into the risk of pushing the game to private property which we are not alowed to hunt( flat lander tree huggers).

I myself don't have the patience, so I walk v-e-r-y s-l-o-w, glass a lot, and sit on stumps whenever possible.
I try calling very softly and stay in cover as much as possible.
go around open areas
use scent (doe/cow in heat on boot-pads)
watch my back (they sometimes follow me out of curiosity)

The only time I sit is when I know somthing is coming my way. I have succefully killed big game every year spot and stalking. I believe that you can sit for weeks and see only a few animals. I see multiple shooters almost every time I go out stalking. I prepare to the fullest though. I wash all my gear in sent-lok and use field spray every time I go out. I also use Elk estrus on my boots while elk hunting and deer estrus while deer hunting. Also always wear a face shield or camo paint on your face because thats the first thing they will see is your face and eyes. I also use wind chalk that helps to know wich way the wind is traveling and how I need to make the next move.

there are many ways to get on deer and elk,i am hunting archery right now and i have just been finding heavy trails with buck tracks and slowly moving a few hundered yards at a time sitting and rattleing,doe bleats,for a half hour at a spot and i have had many small bucks come in and a couple shooter bucks,and one i have been after this whole season i missed;(

I'm old so I like the sit n wait method. I think the younger you are the more you walk. Either way your best change is being out there either sitting or walking

I think it varies with the species, topography and game density.

I can't sit to long and if I do its right at the end of the day, so I like the spot and stalk my self for mule deer but if you want to kill a white tail get ready to have a seat and wait them out!
