Should I stay or should I go....?

well the past several days have been entertaining for me here- I've picked up some information that I'll use for the rest of my life- I owe it all to this fabulous forum. Wink

I understand a few of the regulars here don't like me based on my diet (I'm a Vegan) but there's so many OTHER reasons to hate me, not just my diet

anyways here's my proposition- 7 days to vote me off the Island- If I lose I'm gone, never to return.

if I win, I stay.

so far I havent done anything to warrant the name calling and personal attacks- except for the fact that I'm a vegetarian and I make the odd spelling error. I haven't disrespected anyone else on this forum, and have not isolated anyone either- I feel that I have been open minded to all kinds of criticisms, thoughts and concerns. I feel this is a good way to see if an open minded person who happens to be a vegetarian is welcome in this forum board. We'll see what happens.

God bless freedom of speach!

i would like to know what brought about this veggie thing with you? Did your dad take you hunting and scare the s**t out of you. Found out what is really in a hot-dog. Found your dog or cat missing one day? And mom said we are having goulash for dinner tonight? I care about my health, but I just watch what I eat .been eating wild game most of my life. and if it weren't for hunting I wouldn't have hardly any meat at all except for chicken. don't get me wrong I have my 5-a-day

Well you can't blame the forum regulars for getting nervous when someone named vegan_cannibal signs on.

The internet is made up of many, many special interest forums and most are frequented by individuals that are passionate about that sport, activity, etc. So when a vegan (plus animal rights activist) joins up on a hunting board, it does not illicit too many warm fuzzies from the forum regulars. Most established hunting forums have had bad experiences with both vegans & animal rights groups.

I can also tell you, that none of us on this board want to become vegans or want to be preached to about animal rights or about not eating meat. We all have choices and we've made our choice to hunt & eat meat. Period.

So tell me V_C, what do you feel you can contribute to a hunting board? Or is it simply entertainment you're looking for? If so, this really isn't the right place.

Stay if you like. Everybody should feel welcome here. Maybe we can sway you over to our side when you realize that hunting can and is a necessary animal management tool. Nobody respects the animals we hunt like the hunters and we welcome the chance to prove that to you in a meaningful way. I promise to respect your views as I hope you will respect mine and something positive can come out of this.

Sarcasm and self indulgence usually don't go very far. They make a loud bang, but fizzle out quickly.

Try making some productive offerings. Get accountable for your own actions. You might even start feeling better about yourself.

My vote is:
Don't let the door hit you in the ass! Bye. Go away forever.

That is in your own words. I know how to speak your language, when I find it neccesary to communicate.

I really don't know what it is that you can contribute to this forum either but, I did enjoy the thread about the old man.
To me...I don't realy care if you stay or go!
I would like you to share my opinions and the way of life that I have chosen but.....I know that you never will. (although I would gladly help you get started if you were so inclined)
I will be tolerent of your lifestyle and will help out anyone that asks. I wish that everyone was as tolerent as me........they are not.
I believe that there should be a new sign at the harbor on the way into Ellis Island......welcome to The United States of America......we will protect you from yourself...(because we know you can't).

If you genuinely want to stay - then stay. I respect people who respect me, not people who agree with me. I would hope that you would be mindful of the fact that this forum is intended for hunters/shooters to discuss ideas and issues concerning something we enjoy passionately. Obviously, you do not share our interest and that's fine too. I've heard some stuff in this forum that I absolutely disagree with. I might voice my opinion but always try to be respectful and courteous while doing so, sometimes I just keep my mouth shut too.

I thought about this thread and you V_C.
You are certainly not the first "anti" that has been here and not the first one that was............I will call it "welcomed" but, I'm not really sure thats where it is.
What I have seen in the past is.......Most anti's try to start fights or name calling and then they find out that the people on here really won't get all bent out of shape because of thier words.......then they get frustrated and leave.
About 20 posts seems to be max....
You have come accross a site with some of the best people I "know" they are honest and careing and compasionate......There are not too many places in this world with such a high percentage of those kind of people in one place as you have found here.
The salt of the earth!

Lets think of all the places people could spend there extra energy and money (other than people bashing)
March of dimes
Cancer treatment
hunger
illiteracy
childhood illnesses
mentally handicaped people
the family down the streat that just lost thier house to fire........these are worthy causes that demand peoples passionate interest and investment and time!
Not sitting in your home or high rise office trying to figgure out how to screw people that don't share your feelings and emotions.
Remember........We will be judged by the same measure that we judge others......V_C..............God bless you and be well.

Well, if you're going to to continue to be arrogant, try to stir the pot, and try to force your beliefs on others, I would say you're going. I hadn't said a single thing to you when you started on me, and aside from the name-calling, that post, like the majority of your others, was rude and argumentative. In all honesty, I don't think you could un-do what you've stirred up.
