Hey Guys I'm looking to go shoot my rifle before my elk trip this fall. I live in Littleton and am looking for somewhere kind of close to go shoot my rifle. I am new to CO so anything would help.
Thanks in advance.
Family Shooting Center at Cherry Creek State Park is going to be the closest and most convienient. Aside from the $15 range fee (you can bring up to 2 rifles and any additional gun is another 8 bucks), you'll need a park pass to enter Cherry Creek which clips you for another 8 dollars.
You'll also need to have all rifles in cases or they get all kinds of bent out of shape. They're a bit pricey, but you wanted close, and that's about it locally.
Jim Zumbo, Craig Boddington, Ron Spomer and Wayne Van Zwoll are all solid contributers to the modern hunting literature. Through their gifts (both hunting and writing) they make us better hunters. Whether it is letting us learn from their mistakes or by teaching us new techniques, they help us harvest more game. But I suggest looking to the oldies, the fathers of the outdoor writing craft, to learn tricks that you might have not used.
I chose to shoot the 270 winchester because I grew up...
