Very nice moose. You'll be dining on the best of the best game meat the rest of the winter. Any moose is a good moose in my opinion, just some are bigger than others. After scoring my Colorado moose this year it came out at 167 6/8. Not bad. I haven't looked to see where it lands in B&C. If any of you guys have access to the Colorado book could you look that up for me? I can't even find it on the internet. I really don't care, it is a beautiful moose and as you guys know, once in a lifetime. My taxidermist came out of retirement to mount it and says it will be done by Christmas. Still have a buck tag to fill here in Colorado. Seeing some good ones, but my tag is good till Dec. 1. Congrats again on a great moose. Not many have the opportunity.............
I have shiras moose envy! unlike the others I have only one mere preference point so I have much time on my hands in the next many years to read about the others and their successful moose hunts. I wish you great luck in finding these same great animals in your sights and real close to the road in the very near future!
Let me start off by saying that I am a scaredy cat.
For someone that spent 3 years in 82nd Airborne jumping out of all manner of military aircraft, my friends find this ludicrous - but... it is what it is!
Climbing stand? Yep, still scared - put me up 15' and that is about it.
Ladder stands? I am better in these - but still cautious.
Chain on stands? Used to love them, now they terrify me.
I was once ridiculed for putting chain on stands waaaay too high - some of my friends...
