I haven't found any either so far this winter. However: the last 3 weeks my
brother and I each have seen bucks that still had their antlers. I think that
it's a little late for them to still have them but I could be wrong.

Hello guys, I'd say usually in mid-march is usually a safe-time to start finding those sheds.....I haven't seen any bucks with their antlers, so they may be dropping them in some areas. Good luck

How are you guys making out with these? This cold weather really should get those antlers dropping!

shed hunting in pa??????

I have found two nice shed antlers in the last 3 years on public land in south-central PA, both while scouting for spring gobblers in late April. One had the ends of the five palmated points chewed off--probably by plentiful porcupines in the area. The other is an absolutely perfect four points (right side of an eight point buck I'm assuming--that i found on April 22 this year.) I saw another buck near my house that still had its antlers in late March this year. So I'm thinking the bigger bucks we have due to antler restrictions might hold their antlers longer than they used to? I don't recall reading that anywhere, but just my theory. Finding sheds is almost as much fun as shooting a buck--and a lot less work! Big smile
