I read recently in an article

I read recently in an article where Montana required their $8 conservation license in order to legally shed hunt... but I cannot find that in their regulations.  What I did find... Antler/Horn/ Skull Possession - Individuals may possess, transport, sell, or purchase naturally shed antlers, or the antlers with a skull or portion of a skull attached from a game animal that has died from natural causes and that has not been illegally killed. Carcasses and parts of elk, deer, antelope and moose killed in vehicular collisions may be taken and possessed but only with a Vehicle-Killed Wildlife Salvage Permit. No other game animals may be salvaged by this permit. It is illegal to possess a bighorn sheep head/horn picked up in the wild.

Have not heard of anything

Have not heard of anything for Colorado such as a permit or license but I am sure that is only a matter of time. What they need to do is enforce the current laws about 4 wheelers, off road driving instead of make new rules that will only be followed by those who obey the law in the first place. I also believe Wyoming has some kind of a season/permit needed to shed hunt but not sure of the details. I can somewhat see a license/permit for those guys looking to make a buck selling the antlers but for us that just like the fun of it and use at home I am not for it.

Good luck to all going out shed hunting and hope to see some photos.

Went out shed hunting today

I was out there for a few hours today. Saw lots of deer, none with antlers and didn't find a single shed. Still a good time though.

Thanks, I think it is cool so we take photos of the antlers as we find them before we even pick them up.
