Hello guys, I've been gone for over a week due to an accident. My mom was killed in Ishpeming, Mi. while crossing the street by a man with a revoked license. I know this doesn't really belong here but I have to share my grief. I've talked to some of you more than the people I see in person every day. She died instantly and would be happy to know that her donated organs have already saved 3 lives as of this morning.
She was coming to visit my family here in Colorado in just a few more weeks. She will be missed and loved forever.
I had promised my wife I would never get another tatt but the rules changed with this. It is the shape of Upper Michigan with my moms initials above it. The stars represent where she was born in Kingsford and where she died in Ishpeming with the dates of both events.
I had not returned home for 24 years and on the trip there I swore I never would again. But my mom would be happy to know I feel differently now and plans have already been made to reunite with family I have ignored for way too long and possibly return with my son to hunt and fish in traditional family places. If I don't the connection will be lost forever and I can't allow that for my future generations.
