seen animals 2 by 2 yet?

Lake Champlain (which includes the border between much of New York state and Vermont) is three feet above flood stage this morning.  A lot of local bridges and roads are closed.   Lake side houses and at least a couple baseball fields are under water.  One island community has been cut in half as flood waters have met mid island making two islands out of the high ground on either end.  I guess you could say it’s a damp spring around here.

When we were talking about

When we were talking about all the snow most of the country was getting back in March I failed to remember that it all had to go somewhere when it melted. We didn't have it to bad here in Colorado but the Aspen paper just reported yesterday that they had the snowiest April since they started keeping records in 1934. Over 59 inches on top in April which more than a foot above the previous record.

Hopefully things slow down before long as a lot of people are being impacted with the flooding.

My parents went for a drive

My parents went for a drive down the U.S. side of the lake this week Mike, and sent me a few photos.

Unbelievable.  My parents yard, not by the lake, but a few miles away, is swamped too.

The only good thing about the high water is that it should keep the trout fishing streams full until I get back there in July to fish.... Wink

water hasn't been as high as

water hasn't been as high as it was last year here in kansas, and it probably won't be again for a while. this time last year, i was wading in 2 foot of water, bowfishing behind the house. water's about 12-15 feet lower this year.

it gets a little crazy around the great lakes from time to time, snow, rain, wind. that's the price you pay for the walleye fishing.
