I'm really tired from dragging the game cart through the brush but just taking a minute to post up my daughters buck. The weather change really helped things out for sure. A great 3x3 she nailed at just under 300 yards. She knocked him down with one shot but when we got to him were surprised that he was gone!!! We follwed his tracks with no blood and finished him off only 75 yards away, turns out she hit the side of his head with the first shot and knocked him out. He would have survived for sure but fortuantely was very confused and she was able to finish the deal.

Yep that's my grandson
Yep that's my grandson Colter. He likes to get in the middle of everything that's going on. And as far tas the deer go it really helps to be in a quality are and know it so well after hunting it for over 20 years.
Good luck with your hunts there and especially with your Vermont hunt coming up. That one will be great with your dad. I'm lucky in that I get to hunt with my dad nearly every time I go out.

That is great and a big congratulation to her on a fine deer. Hope to say I am tired of pushing and pulling the game cart out after our season is over. Great job this past year on all the game you and your family have taken. Now time to kick back, relax and enjoy all the fine meals these animals will provide.

Now That's a Successful Mule Deer Season!
Congrats to all on a great season! I'm impressed with your daughters generosity. You know, how she managed to put her deer in a position for her brother to kill it!:)
Two questions for you. Do you have enough freezer space and where exactly were you? I'm guessing yes to the first question and a half mile past I Don't Think So Creek to the second question.

Well this morning was my
Well this morning was my dad's last chance to hunt but he closed it out in a little smaller fashion with a young 2x3.
Our freezers are all full and we have actually donated a bunch of meat now to some families that needed it. We skin them and quarter them up and grind if needed. They greatly appreciate it and always ask for more if we have extra. We have actually filled 15 of 17 tags so far with antelope, elk, and now deer. We still have a fourth season cow tag for my son and 2 private land late season for me and my dad. My son and daughter each have a doe tag for the third as well but they were sold out before I was able to get one. Plus we have three deer tags for whitetail in Texas starting November 5th. It's been the greatest year ever that's for sure.
