The second half of my goat hunt

Went back up this weekend, and I hunted with my cousin, my uncle, and my uncle's brother. A little different story than last week's fun, but disappointing hunt. We shot 4 goats in an hour. 2 bucks and 2 does. I got my redemption after last weeks misses and i couldn't be more excited! he's not a monster buck but im happy with him. he's all busted up from fighting. Made about a 200 yards shot on him. And the buck my uncle shot was about 14 inches tall with good mass. short cutters though. Just an awesome hunt with family. It's not often i get to hunt two weekends in a row but i was fortunate enough to do so this year. Here's the pics from this past weekend

Awesome!

Glad you sealed the deal and were able to get out again. One of my buds who hunted the same area I did had five tags in his party. He was the only who filled his tag opening Saturday so they went out again last Friday. He said the goats were so spooked they hardly saw any and the few they did see hauled azz from quite a distance not giving shots. Great job!

Thanks guys! yeah those goats

Thanks guys! yeah those goats were pretty spooky after being shot at all week. i think they were all holed up on the private land were huntin. It borders BLM land on 2 sides and i would guess they got shot at a whole lot. We saw a decent number on the property we were huntin

Very nice!  Congrats to all of you guys!!!!  I have one package of antelope loin left that someone gave me. It's one of the best wild meats, IMO.

Congratulations on having a

Congratulations on having a successful end to your hunt. You had the right mindset after the trip where you missed so I am glad that you ended up getting one. You definitely stalked enough goats to earn one. Good job. It looks like you guys made a really good time of it. How many tags went unfilled. Doesn't sound like many did. That is always a good feeling. Who cares if your buck didn't have gigantic cutters... you worked hard for him. Did you end up re-sighting in your rifle or anything after your first trip. It sounded like you didn't feel like there was anything wrong with it but did you make any adjustments?

Hawkeye makes a good point

Hawkeye makes a good point about having to go to plan B and make adjustments.  Just like a football team, you sometimes have to make half time adjustments.  Some teams can do it others can't.  The same with hunters.  Some will just keep doing the same thing that they know and others will adapt to the situation.  Congrats again.

Thanks guys! appreciate the

Thanks guys! appreciate the comments. ya know it's funny hawkeye, i was gonna go to the range but i got too busy and didn't get to. so i took a gamble and i went out and used my same rifle with no adjustments. I made a clean shot at 200 yds. so now im convinced whatever made me miss those shots the first weekend was all in my head lol. That's why girlfriends are a bad idea during hunting season   I made the mental adjustments during the week and made it happen the second weekend. The first weekend we filled 2 out 3 tags. and the second weekend i went out with some other relatives and we went 4 for 4 in an hour.
