Some pistol scopes can be used as scout scopes, depending on the eye relief and how far forward your mounting the scope. There is a much larger variety of pistol scopes than "scout scopes".

If magnification is not an issue, any red-dot should work as well. Plus both aimpoint and eotech are now offering magnifiers for their respective red-dot scopes; although I'm uncertain if the eye relief will work for your application.
