I have a marlin xl7 in 30 06. The gun is a great bang for the buck and the "accu-trigger" type trigger is very nice. Fully adjustable although I haven't changed it, It sure helps with flinching as you pull the trigger. I've shot several boxes of ammo through it since I got it before hunting season and really like the gun. 3 inch groups at 200 yards with just my bi-pod. I didn't kill anything with it this year but I'm happy with it so far. The only problem I've had is trying to put 4 + 1 bullets into the gun. For some reason the bolt scuffs up the case of the round. So iif you do buy one only put 3+1 in the gun

I've never owned the other guns but im sure somone else has and will chime in...

Buy the savage, toss the scope in the trash and replace with a quality scope.

50 years from now if it breaks you'll still be able to find parts it.

The non-Accutrigger Savage and the Stevens 200 is the same gun, just different color stock.

I ended up buying a Tika T3 Lite. They were on sale, and the only model that they had in stock, in .270 Win. It came with scope mounts, and seems like a very nice rifle.

The T3's are a nice rifle.

The XL7's are a superb buy. The quality is excellent for the price and should not be much (if any) more expensive than the stevens 200.

I was going back to the store to buy buy the 30/06 XL7, US made, also on sale. When I saw the Tikka on sale in .270 Win. I really like the cartrage, and have a good supply of ammo. I also got a Hawke scope (on closeout). I can't wait till after deer season to try the new combo. I have another 5 weeks of deer season, then off to the range.
