Im just not sure where these guys are headed. i mean if its a fake people are going to find out and thus in turn making more people less sympathetic to their cause.

I was excited when I first heard about this, but now that I look at the pictures, it seems like it has to be a hoax. If you actually had a bigfoot, wouldn't you take the time to take some good pictures?

And you're right Csumerall, this should only reduce any support that they have.

People say that they don't believe bigfoot exists because there are not great pictures and no one has ever found any remains.

We've all seen the Patterson/Gimlin film and that is actually the only real clear footage we have, yet people still dispute it. So many peole have claimed to be the guy dressed in a costume that it makes we wonder about the credibility of the people trying to disproove the footage. It appears to me that there are more things about that film footage that are authentic than are not. Including the fact that the creature reacts exactly as any wild animal does when encountered by man in the wild. It got up and split the scene. Also back then, or even today most people refere as bigfoot in the masculine sense (he), but the bigfoot in that film upon closer examination appears to be a female. As the creature turn back to look you can see two breasts. If someone were to fake this footage, then who especially back in those days would put breasts on a faked monster suit and not call attention to it from the beginning and let it be discovered by others years later? I seriously doubt that anyone even gave that fact a thought back then.

Bob Gimlin was asked how heavy he thought the creature to be and his initial estimation was about 400 lbs, but when scientists examined the scene the next day they determined that the footprints were made by a being weighing about 800+ lbs. What man in an ape suit could walk for very long on rugged terrain carrying and additional 550 lbs on them in a suit?? It just seems that all those wanting to disproove it can't seem to come up with a believeable enough case.

Here is an example of why bigfoot is rarely seen. We have a small group of Grizzly bears here in Colorado that seem to be seen about every 30 years or so. The most recent reliable report was from 2 years ago. Yet everyone believes that they are extict in this state since the early 20th century, but a guide was attacked by one in 1979 and killed it, that proved that they exists. That sow had given birth at leat once in here life, so they are around, but rarely seen. I imagine that bigfoot would be less numerous and living in very remote areas of the wilderness where few people go and would do it's best to avoid man. Maybe that's why we can't find a body of a dead one.

Well, I guess the cats out of the bag now. It was actually a bigfoot costume and wasnt really big foot in the freezer. Thought I was going to have to eat quite a bit of crow.

Watershed Wizard, thanks for your posts. I have commented some in the past on the subject on another string. I have not seen BF, but I think I some day will. Until then - I will not dispute the possibility they exist. ... I have read several hundred posts on the BFRO site. I think they leave the open reader with a pretty solid picture.

I have been thinking a lot about this thread. What do people want for `proof'? It is widely accepted that atoms are made up of electrons, protons, and neutrons. How many of us have actually seen an electron? (Oh, there's one, look -"Electron, Made in China.") I'm not gonna throw out the idea of an electron just because I haven't seen one. We accept quantum physics on the word (and maybe some fuzzy pictures) of a few scientists. More people see bigfoot every year than electrons. There are certainly more bigfoot sightings every year than Bin Laden sightings - yet most of us accept the existence of Bin Laden. I guess some day we may capture Bin Laden. Perhaps some day someone will capture a bigfoot. Probly the collective manpower looking for Bin Laden WAY EXCEEDS all the manpower all through time looking for Bigfoot - and neither have been caught. We accept the existence of Bin Laden based on what a few people in our government and intelligence community tell us. Frankly - I'll question the existence of BL before that of BF. Food for thought.

There are pictures and video of bin laden but none of big foot. I think when you have guys out there like the ones I posted about, it doesnt help the cause. I think that the proof people are looking for would be either video or pictures but I think at this point in the game you would have to have a body, alive or dead.

Huhhhhh? There are pics and video of BF all over the place.

We see a clip of BL on CNN, and we accept it at face value ... we don't say, "Oh, it's just CIA in a BL suit." But when we see a clip of BF - we immediately jump to the assumption it is a man in a BF suit. Why are we more willing to believe in an Arab out there blowing up trade centers than we are a big biped that keeps to himself in the deep woods?

I'm not saying BL doesn't exist ... I'm challenging the way we look at things.

Question: I would be curious as to the number of people who have even been on BGH who have seen BF vs. the number of people on BGH who have ever seen BL? We have at least one person ON THIS STRING who has seen BF. And I am NOT going to sit him down and tell him he didn't see what he saw.

I personally am yet to see anything as proof of big foot. I have seen the famous movie, that was later debunked as were many photos. No I personally have not seen bin laden either but, there is a little more sustainablitiy to him than big foot. I am not saying that they arent out there but I am highly skeptical.

Well said. I would agree there is a glaring lack of `proof'. At least in the traditional sense (a body, a bone, a taped interview with one, one behind the fence in a zoo). I'm probably less sceptical, though. Maybe a good place to end, or pause, the string.
