Sasquatch Sightings Increase During Hunting Season...

Thanks everyone...for the ideas on this subject.

There are always hard questions to answer concerning this animal. I'm
caught in between a rock and a hard place - seeing the biped myself. I've
stood in the tracks it's left in really light snow, one April morning, just after
it vacated the area.

I have no idea how it manages to stay hidden in the winter, with the chance
of tracks being present as a possibility. All I've heard, is that when someone
gets onto tracking them, they do not want to follow it through. But the fact
remains - they should be easier to find in the winter. You just can not hide
these tracks during certain times. Just follow them to the end...right?

I don't know where these things hold up, when they come out - those types
of things. But I do know that they are intelligent. If you ask me...I think we
should just 'shoot' Lady Luck, and the beast is hiding behind her.

You know... I have a story, and I don't like to tell it because it is always followed by the same "What were you smoking... Yeah right... hysterical laughter... and calls of B.S., but a group of boy scouts and I all saw "something" on a cliff overlooking us on a river during a 50 mile raft trip in the late 80's in Oregon.
We were rafting the Grande Ronde River in North East Oregon/SW Idaho. There was a group of about 15 scouts and four adults along on the trip. Myself and five others were in the last raft of a three raft train going through an S curve canyon when the scout leader in our raft pointed up at the cliffs and said "what's that?" What I saw on that cliff was a large biped animal standing upright with reddish brown hair / fur that covered it's entire body. It stood approx. 8 to 10ft tall and it also appeared to have breasts, or no hair at all on it's chest. The fiirst thing that ran through my mind was that I was looking at the biggest black bear I had ever seen. Then the thing turned it's upper body and looked over it's shoulder, something I have never seen a bear do and I have seen pleanty of bear in my life. It looked back over it's shoulder and then back at us then it turned around and walked upright into the timber.
Now first of all I hate telling this story because I am forever riddiculed by whoever I tell it to. Second, I am not 100% sure I saw a big foot. What I am sure of is that I have spent years and years in the woods of Oregon, Washington and Alaska, and I have NEVER seen anything out there that could explain what I saw that clear sunny day on the Grande Ronde River. It was neither bear nor a refugee from the movie Deliverance. Only the five of us in the last raft saw it, and of course being on a white water raft trip all of our cameras were in watertight bags and not readily on hand for a Kodak moment such as this.
I do not consider myself a believer nor a full blown skeptic. I saw something that does not have an explination. I would liked to have had a camera so that some dissbeliever could look at the pics inside and out and say it's nothing more than a man in a suit, but this is not the case. I do think that a large mamal "could" be out there without us knowing about it. The mountain Gorilla was, until the turn of the century, a myth believed by none and until Columbus the world was flat. Contrary to popular belief we as human do not know it all. Hopefully some day some one will either prove or disprove this myth once and for all. Mabey those guys on Mythbusters could give it a wack.

I don't think for a moment, that a lot of people are going crazy with sighting
this thing. If there is such a thing as an expert - they're telling us, that they
feel that close to 85 percent of sightings of this animal go unreported
because of ridicule, etc. This creature holds a mystery over man this way.
Practically every animal has been hunted, reported on, pictured, and the
likes - but not the Sasquatch. It is one of the last great hunts. And it is
making man look like a fool. Hunters can't shoot it, Trackers can't track it,
Photograhers can't picture it, Scientists can't monitor it, and it goes on and
on. This thing mocks man in it's own way.

Thanks for sharing these things though...

Any more sightings this season? With all this snow, it's tracking season now.

As much as I would like to believe there is such a creature, there are a couple of things that are undeniably in question.

First, how come no one has ever found a dead one? You would think a hunter, camper, hiker, mountain biker, etc. would have come across a carcass by now.

Second, with all the game cameras out there, all the video cameras, not one credible picture?

There can only be one logical explanation.....that wasn't a bigfoot you saw, it was Elvis.

Workingstiff,
Keith found tracks in a remote area of the South San Juan Wilderness Area. He has yet to physically see a Sasquatch. He has done a ton of research on Sasquatch. He's a great bow hunter.
