San Diego Youth Turkey Hunt approved

This is a really local thing to San Diego, but I know there are a couple of guys in my area on here.  They will draw the spots at the end of the month at the NWTF Turkey Tune-up at Lake Sutherland.

Should be interesting...

It will be interesting to see how many whakos show up at the hunting site to protest!  I bet they don't know they can be cited if they do

The comments are just as entertaining as the hunt lol

I am actually going to get Ballsy again, and go with the bow the first day to your spot.  You planning on going that day?

Stairman? He's pretty active on there.

This time of year, Saturdays are dedicated to Little League so I'll miss the opener but I will probably take the boys out on Sunday of the youth weekend and then I'll hit a few Sundays with the bow.  I just don't get that amped up over turkey hunting.  However, the past two seasons have peaked my desire to get one with the bow.  2 years in a row now I have had big toms come in on the last day.  Both times resulted in the same result (they lived) but they were in the same spot.  This year I have new decoys that I hope to use when and if I make it out.  I am standing by my decision to not kill another turkey with my shotgun until I get one with the bow.  Just hoping that I can draw it by then.  I'm still recovering from a fracture in my elbow that happened at the end of December!  Confused

Damn, didn't hear about the elbow.  Anyway, let me know if you want to hook up and hit the spot with the bows.  I am making it my mission to not only get my first turkey, and first bowkill anything ever, but to get that darn Tom that has busted me 2 years in a row.  Gonna go after him like you suggested, coming back around from further down the road.

Good article but better

Good article but better comments at the bottom, I'm glad they are getting the youths involved in hunting, I thought we had some extreme whackos up here but you guys down there have your fair share as well. hopefully they dont try to spoil the hunt for the kids involved.
