I'm thinking about buying a used Sako AV, the gun is %99 almost perfect. I own a Sako 75 and I would like to know what the diffrence is ? The price is $800 the gun has awsome wood and super nice bluing, it has a crap bushnell sportview scope, but it does have nice conetrol mounts. Do you guys think it's worth $800 ? I paid around $1,100 for my 75 and this gun seems just as nice, it's a 243 so It would be nice for whitetails, I will put a nice leupold scope on it if I buy it. Can I put a 50mm scope on those standard size mounts, or do I need high mounts for that ? I would buy a leupold vx3 with a 1inch tube.

"AV" referred to the action length and is probably a model previous to the 75. The action, bolt, and magazine are remarkable similar to the Finnbear models from the 50-60's.
50mm obj probably will not work with medium rings. Leupold makes aftermarket rings and you can order genuine sako optilock rings from any beretta dealer.[/u]
