leave the expandables i don't trust them and the last thing ya want is a defective broad head hittin a bear go with the crimson talon's in 100gr.

You are going to want to go with a fixed blade broadhead. I would sugest the Montech by G5 or mabey thunderheads in 100-125gr. Mech heads are not reliable enough for bear hunting. I would not suggest anything over a 35-40 yrd shot. Trusrt me, a wounded bear is not somthing to go looking for after a sub-par shot or one that does not penitrate deep enough.
I bait my bear on the grass flats by the beach in the spring, while you might not have the same hunting terrain the idea is the same. Bait them where they find thier food source in the given time of year. For me it's on the beach in the spring, in the berry patches in the summer, and fall baiting is not necessary because mother nature takes care of that in the form of abundant fish runs. The same goes for your area, find out what they eat and when and bait accordingly. I baited every two days with dog food and fryer grease from the local fast food joint. I had great success in that I would get up to 12 bear a night in my bait. Theywould even sit back in the tree line and watch as I baited the barrel and would wait for five min before moving back in. You do have to understand though that I live in a place where there are up to 5 bear per square mile in places and is arguably the densest population of black bear anywhere but with a good bait location you could have good results as well.
Good luck.

Sounds to me like you have no experience with bears so I would reccommend that you purchase a couple videos on bear baiting.
Here is a link to some videos

I would also suggest that you shoot no farther than 30 yards. Accurate to 70 yards is great while target shooting, but is not reliable in most field conditions.

Good luck!

even though i have no experience the people i am going with do, 10 bear a year type experience... if a shot arises at around 50 yards, i am deffinately taking it, with AXIS arrows, montec broadheads, 80 lb draw, and 2 inch group, i would feel more than comfortable on taking the shot

How do those Axis arrows work for you? I was thinking about trying them out. I currently use Goldtips but I like to try a heavier arrow.
