I have a payroll and employ people. I'm a small contractor, mostly repeats and refferals. Start at around $11, for labor in my specialty that's $3 more than the going rate. No 401K, no health insurance, my neighbor's grand kids get first dibs on jobs because they're neighbors. They're 6th generation Coloradans but all speak some Spanish not sure if that makes them illegals in some peoples minds. I still have my first employee.

$11.00 an hour in CO?????? Is that what you people call a "Living Wage"???? I'm a general contractor in a very rural area of a "right to work" state and I start kids off at $15.00 per hour. That's summer help, not a skilled trade.

No one can live on that in Colorado. You can't even pay your rent or house payment with that. Its ok for kids, but not for a wage you can live on.

Its no wonder civetcat wants socialized health care, he sure doesn't want to spend a dime for his employees. And if you've read other posts of his, you'll note that he has bragged at how well he has done in his business and how it allows him to travel several months each year.
