You're just a little south for pig. Alot of quail around there. The big thing there is alot of bear that are taken. It's closed for this year, but look into it for next year if it interests you.

Im not sure what you mean by "any report on it?" I dunno, they are kinda common aren't they? She was pretty young, but the area I was in has a ton of them and I always manage to run into them when I hunt deer there, so I got a tag, started tracking a buck, and saw the bear sign sure enough lol.

I was asking if you posted a report anywhere about it, with photos, etc.... Just like to hear stories and see photos, that's all..... Yes

Ahh, gotcha pardener. Well, I got out of the truck with my dad, and we started off in a d-8 zone. Was around 6:30 am, no wind, and probably around 30 degrees. (unspecified area till opening bear season next year due to the large male bears that live there ) Anyways, we were actually looking for deer, but we did have a bear tag handy, because for some reason, we always have close encounters with them. As we got down to the creek, I smelled this nasty must smell, and dad and I exchanged puzzled looks. Then as I crossed the creek, I realized that there were bear tracks following some rather large buck tracks. I was kinda in a bind, because I had never shot a bear, but the buck looked trophy for the area. So anyways I felt the tracks and knew that the bear was close, because they were so fragile. I was about to tell my dad, to keep his eyes open, because I knew the bear had passed only 10-15 minutes ago, and as I looked over at him, he had his rifle pointed and I looked, and saw some huge brown animal starring us down at about 60 yards away on a horizon. My dad took the shot and the bear hauled up the hill and reached for a tree, As the bear reached for the tree my dad pulled the trigger again and this time the bar actually flinched. As it climbed my dad looked at me and said, Why isn't he going down?!" He placed one last shot in the vital zone, yet AGAIN, with the 160 grain vital shock for the .270 and the bear climbed the tree higher, and finally reached for a limb, and slowly (looked as if he was trying to pull off a gomer pyle pull-up) lossed his grip and fell about 60 feet. Needless to say, the hunt was kind of intimidating, with a mortally wounded bear 60 feet directly over head lol. How was your bear hunt this year?
