I have put in for a unit 24 archery draw in Co. I was wondering if anyone has hunted with Ripple Creek Outfitters and Lodge. Trying to kill my first elk and didnt know if this was a good way to accomplish that goal. Thanks for any info!
Haven't hunted with them but contacted them about lodging. They returned my call and said they only rent cabins to their hunters. He was extremely helpful, giving me information on other cabins in the area. We are staying a little further up the road in the flattops wilderness at Trappers lake lodge. They also have horses, guides and a restaurant. We have done a lot of elk hunting but this is the first time in this area. Good Luck!
Let me start off by saying that I am a scaredy cat.
For someone that spent 3 years in 82nd Airborne jumping out of all manner of military aircraft, my friends find this ludicrous - but... it is what it is!
Climbing stand? Yep, still scared - put me up 15' and that is about it.
Ladder stands? I am better in these - but still cautious.
Chain on stands? Used to love them, now they terrify me.
I was once ridiculed for putting chain on stands waaaay too high - some of my friends...
