There are a LOT of deer around (and in) Colfax. Finding legal bucks can be a challenge - but they are there. Also can be a lot of hunters. Let us know how you do. People who live in Whitman county and do not think it's worth hunting do NOT know what they are missing.

SE WA whitetails are tough. There are a lot of deer. One can easily see lots of does and some non-legal and small legal bucks. A friend of mine has done very well over the years on sizeable bucks - but he is over-the-top radical in his seriousness. The big bucks hide and hide TIGHT. You really need to get in there with them. ('There' is where they are hiding, for the most part, quite successfully.)

Yea there are some big bucks but the place and ares we hunt is so high of crp and wheat they bed down and you cant see them most fo the time unless they are big bucks tines sticking up above the grass..lol..... but you practically have to step on them somtimes before they jump....fricken does scaring the crap out of me..
well goodluck this weekend and be safe..

Yea they are.... but i went to a slightly different area and hunted mule deer in some steep country.......I harvested a 2 point with Eyeguards.. my 3rd deer....but for a 2 point it is 17 inches wide extreemly tall and eyeguars on a mule deer that are about 3 inches tall.......This is a really big and nice 2 point with eyeguards.... he was ready to kick off another point off of every tine if you understand what i meen.

when I get the photos developed ill post pics but we used a dispoible camra because we forgot the digitle..
