Looking for hunters that have hunted or know about any of these four ranches....Big Gulch, Blue Gravel, Deakins or Four Mile. I have 12 points and am trying to decide which ranch to apply for the antelope. I have a better chance based on stats of getting into four mile or deakins, but the other two are larger ranches. If you have any knowledge of these I'd certainly appreciate any advise?

I've hunted Big Gulch and it was OK. Lots of speedgoats but not many bruisers, Same with Deakins. The big boys are out there, but you'll need to work for them.

Going with Blue Gravel...the foot and horse only areas was the clincher.

There are some good bucks on all of these ranches especially big gulch.

A few years ago a drought pushed a majority of the antelope onto private lands for a more consitent food and water source in north west Colorado.

Because so many pronghorns had moved to the private land the Dow heavily increased the tag numbers for Private land only tags in a few units in Moffat county where several of these ranches reside. In my opinion the increase in tags has greatly affected the trophy quality of the bucks on some of these ranches but there are still some great bucks in these area's just not as common as they were prior to 2007 and 2008.

A Good friend and I hunted a ranch that bordered part of the big gulch ranch in 2007 and we saw a trophy caliber antelope just over on the Big Gulch side he never did come across the border to were we could hunt him but he was a big antelope so they are there you will just have to work for them harder now that the tags and pressure on the private ranches have increased.
