Well it is finally official. After 31 years of being a Soldier I have my final set of orders for my retirement. Official retirement is 31 Dec 2013 so still have some time to serve but looking forward to my new life. It sure will be nice to put in for tags with the hope of drawing and actually hunting rather than preference points because I know I would be gone during the season. It will be a bit of a culture shock to live a “normal” life but a very welcome one.
Now for the cool part, my wife said she wanted to get me something for my retirement so she booked us a trophy mule deer and wolf hunt up in Idaho where we went last spring for our bear hunt. What can I say other than I am a lucky man to have a great wife. Of course we are excited to go and certainly hope to post some photos after a successful hunt. I will get 2 wolf tags and sure hope to thin the population and get a nice full mount and a rug.
