REMINGTON'S REPUTATION??

My 700 CDL is 2 years old and shoots great. It's as accurate as I am, meaning it shoots where I aim it. My only complaint is the R3 recoil pad has become very sticky, like its trying to melt. All kinds of stuff sticks to it like dog hair, fuzz from my fleece jacket, grass, leaves and anything else that it comes in contact with. I love the softness of the pad and it really helps with the recoil but if I lean it up against a tree to answer natures call and pick it back up I have to clean all this stuff off the pad. I guess I'll have to buy an aftermarket pad to replace this R3. Now if I can find one that is preground to fit the CDL. Everyone sells them for BDL's and ADL's but I haven't found one thats for a CDL.

REMINGTON'S REPUTATION??

Just to show you how "old-fashioned" I am, I didn't even know they made a CDL. I absolutely refuse to buy a new vehicle, and pay those high prices for something that's going to take me from point A to point B, and back to point A. That being said, I would rather have an older, one-owner low-mileage vehicle that's been well maintained. Same goes for guns(in my case). I really value the "classic" guns from the past. But that's just me. If I'm still alive and kickin' in 20 years, my favorite rifle might well be a Remington 700 CDL, even though I've never heard of one until tonight. That's just my 2 cents worth.......

REMINGTON'S REPUTATION??

Thanks,....I wish I could say that I haven't been around that long either, but....my days feel like they may be numbered. If you know what I mean.......................................Think I'll try one of those CDL's, just to make me feel younger.

I think the CDL is Remington admitting their quality has gone down. The CDL is a fancy 700 with stock caps, checkering, etc. just like the BDL had 15-20 years ago. Think

Yeah and the moratorium for the Model 70 is nearly over. The new ones are supposed to hit dealer shelves in June this year. The new ones will be made by FN USA.
