Remington Corlokts-why does everyone trash them??

I bought a box of Remington Cor-Lokt 140gr for my new 7mm-08. I have never used them with any gun before. But, I also have never read anything positive about them on any sites or magazines. What is wrong with these bullets and will they kill deer??? I have mostly used winchester ballistic Silvertips and nosler partitions in factory fodder in the last 6-7 years. What is different about Corlokts?

Will they kill deer....yes

Why does everyone hate them dunno.

I don't use them because all of my worst days on the range I have been shooting Remmington Core-Lokt ammo. Perhaps it was psychologic, but I switched to Federal and then to Winchester (after Federal became too hard to find regularly) and my groupings improved dramatically. Obviously with experience my accuracy got better, which was probably equally responsible for my improvement, but it did also correspond with giving up Remmington ammo.

Core lokts are a proven big-game bullet. The new bullet technology has just surpassed the old core lokt tech. so there are better bullets on the market and people are choosing to use them.

I shoot Core-Loka out of my Ruger Mark II and shoot a 1 inch group at 200 yards with them. No BS. I love them. Now the same bullet out of my Remington 710, it is a different story, 2.5 inches at 100 yards on a good day. But I still like them.

I have never read anything bad about them. They will kill a deer. Use them and then come up with your own opinion of them, dont let a mag or site tell you what to think.

I haven't seen anyone trash them and I have seen positive reviews of them. I guess I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that nobody likes them.

They were the only bullet I hunted big game with until I started reloading my own rounds.
They will get the job done very well.

I've been shooting Remington Core-lokt out of my .270 for the 10+ yrs i've owned the rifle. I recently tried winchester and my groups where horrible. I've used federal and they seem to be ok, however I shoot consistent groups with the remington, and my rifle seems to like them. I've shot numerous deer and 3 moose with this rifle and load combo, so there is no doubt it will kill deer. ohh and as a note I've also never wounded an animal with it either, I've recovered all animals I've shot with these rounds. Thumbs up
