remington core lokt

are there any big fans of the remington core lokt ammo out there? i just took my new weatherby .270 out shooting to sight it in and shot through 1 box of remington core lokt and 1 box of winchester super X. by the end of the box of remington, i was all sighted in and had 1" groups at 100 yards. the winchesters didn't do so well. they were about 2" off the aiming point and i could only get about 2 1/2" groups.

this is my first big-game caliber rifle and i intend to use it mainly on pig, and possibly deer/elk/bear down the road. from what i've read and heard, some guns tend to be picky about what rounds you shoot through them and how well they'll shoot. i haven't shot anything but the remington and winchester rounds yet, although i plan on trying a few others soon.

so i guess the question is, how does the remington core lokt ammo rate as a medium-to-large sized game round? i've read and heard about different types of premium ammo available and i'm open to trying whatever may work best. but if i've already found something that works well and that will get the job done, perhaps there is no sense fixing it?

Remington Core Lokts have a proven track record of dependability and quality since decades.
Want to see what a Winchestere Super X does. The case seperated and stuck in the fur at point of entrance(weight 31.1 grains) and I'm referring to a black bear.
Winchester wanted the casing, to be shipped at my expense..
They didn't have the common decency to pre pay shipping, that may not have beeen their wiseest decision. Maybe some civil litigation attorney may like to have it.. Anyway, you be the judge.

I used remington core lokts, in the green box, until I started reloading my own rounds without a fault.

It is all I use now. I tried various winchester brands and a few others, but to me the Core-Lokt seems to work the best for me. I have WM order me a case every year for target shooting and hunting.

I use a 7mm-08 with 140 grain Remington Core Lokts on pigs. Shot 5 pigs with them last spring. All 5 dropped with single shots. One ran 10 yards, all the others dropped in their tracks. Works for me!

I have used Remington Core-Loct for years....no problem. My 30-06 likes 165 GR. particularly well. I have taken caribou, black bear, antelope, whitetail and mulies with the same weight bullet.

Heard a rumor that Remington is going to make the core lock a bonded. Anybody else heard that? Have no idea why they would change what may well be the most successful bullet ever??

Well just read about the bonded bullet again. Called the "Ultra Bonded CL". It's supposed to be in the 2007 catalog. Have no idea what cals ar weights. Whatever they are tho, they are supposed to be in component form.
