Recommendation on a Red Dot/Holographic on a slug gun

Hi all,
I'm thinking of putting a red dot or holographic scope on my Rem 870 slug gun/barrel. I also don't want to spend a lot, maybe $100 or less, but not more than I paid for the gun. The wide range of scopes and costs is overwhelming. How do I compare say a Cabelas Pine Ridge $50-100 to a Bushnell or Aimpoint scope costing a lot more. The same goes for Holographic sites.

Can anyone offer some criteria or a scope? Thanks for your recommendations.

For a basic red dot, I would consider either the millet sp1 or tasco's pro point. These are suprisingly rugged scopes and will be in around the price range you are searching.

I would stay away from the reflex sites for $100 or less, I don't think they will be rugged enough. If you want to spend more eotech or aimpoint is a good option.
