Yes, that was definitely a weird looking neck from the picture. lol I think it was just from the view of the cheap cell phone camera! It didn't look this same way once I got it hanging.

Not yet. Right now I am in the Florida Keys fishing with the brother-in-law. I'm headed to Colorado this Thursday to prepare for my 2nd rifle cow elk hunt that starts on the 20th. Probably not good to be at sea level one week then go to altitude the next but I have a week to acclimate.

Tuesday morning and evening

Tuesday morning and evening were pretty uneventful. I am going to try to leave work early Thursday morning. I'm hoping I can get off about 4:45am. It's suppose to be in the upper 20's where I am at. If I can get off early I will definitely be in a tree stand Thursday morning. Then I will sleep a couple hours and be right back at it Thursday evening. Good luck to everyone else!!!!!

Great day hunting

I went this morning and didn't get anything but had a lot of fun trying to call in gobbler. He was responding but just wouldn't come in. I crawled down took my family out for breakfast and went and did some pheasant hunting. The guys with dogs were pushing without success so I headed down over the back into the brambles. I had a nice rooster and hen fly on me at the same time. Took the rooster down but I snapped the shot at the hen and couldn't reload fast enough. Got home cleaned my bird filled my belly and headed out to my stand. Just after six I had 6 long beards make the way by just out of bow range and another flock flew up in trees behind me to roost for the night. While I was watching them a red fox came by and then A nice fat doe all within 10 mins. The does hanging behind my house right now!

Congrats!!!!! Sounds like you

Congrats!!!!! Sounds like you had a pretty good day. My day wasn't so lucky. I got out late this morning and didn't see a thing. Then, this evening, I let my first arrow of the season fly. Result: Shot underneath, just grazed a nice doe. I just plain misjudged the distance. I was shooting uphill and it looked to be 20 yards to me. I got down and retrieved my arrow and when I stepped it off it was 27 yards. Usually I'm pretty good at guessing distance but this one got me. I guess it's time to invest in a range finder, lol. Here is all I have to show for it.
