Update

I hunted all day Saturday and Sunday. I saw 21 different deer but only one came within shooting range and it was too small to harvest. I had 11 turkey also in from of my stand but I have to wait until November to shoot one of them. I go back out Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

I was out this morning and I

I was out this morning and I blew a couple chances. I was drawing on a nice doe and a doe behind me busted me. Then I got down a few minutes earlier than I said I was going to hunt and sure enough I was busted by 2 doe's. I may get out again this evening and I may not. I wil definitely be trying to get out Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Good luck to you too - for

Good luck to you too - for your pheasant hunt as well as the deer hunting!  We have some weather coming in so looks like I will get a little wet while in the stand.

Wet Ass!

Well I opted to sit in a stand instead of pheasant hunting. Sat in my stand all morning with 0 activity so I pulled the plug 15 mins early to give me more time to get ready for work. Got my climber about 1/2 way down when I saw something running over. Instead of getting ready I was busy trying to see what it was. A nice coyote stoped 10 yards away but ran before I could nock an arrow and get my bow up. Oh Well, what about you guys anything? I'm going Pheasant thursday monring and then hunting all Thursday night and all day friday.

Here is what I shot Tuesday

Here is what I shot Tuesday evening. Hit the heart and lungs but the doe still ran about 50 yards before falling. It was in the mid 60's so I had to butcher it right away and get the meat in a cooler. The picture is a little deceiving as the Doe was about 150 pounds before I dressed it out and butchered. I don't get to hunt whitetails again until the 1st week of November. Good luck with your hunts!

Thursday evening I saw

Thursday evening I saw quite a few deer. Two of them were bucks. One was a real weird racked buck but a younger one. The other one was a no doubter as soon as I saw him. I think this was the buck the farmer has been telling me about. Very high and wide. It was kind of weird though cause both of these bucks were with a group of 8-10 does. They began to make their way up towards me when suddenly they all turned and bolted back down the hill. I'm guessing they saw something and it spooked them. I have no idea what it was. Even though I didn't get one I was definitely encouraged by what I saw. Friday morning was a bust. I didn't see a thing. I will be going back out this evening. That cold front will be coming in Friday night with some rain so it should be a pretty good sit Saturday evening. Good luck guys, keep after them!!!!!
