Late season can be tough

Late season can be tough hunting. I will not be picky. Any doe 1 1/2 and older is fair game and any mature buck that may show up is fair game as well!!!!!

I finally saw some deer

I finally saw some deer again. I saw 4. I was definitely encouraged by this and will be at it again Monday, New Year's Eve.

Excellent - good luck! My son

Excellent - good luck! My son came in from Colorado for Christmas. Here is a pic of him with a button buck and his excellent shot. I go back out the 3rd and 4th to see if I can get a friend in front of a doe or two.

Any of you guys still

Any of you guys still hunting? I have been out multiple times since ML ended and I have not seen a single deer. I see them on my drive home but that's it. Anyone else having this same problem? I think this is by far the worst year I have ever seen for deer being nocturnal.

I'm still in the woods!

I went out twice this past week and saw no deer - absolutely nothing. In making my rounds around the property I saw signs that the deer are still there but nothing was viewed. I replaced the batteries in my trail camera and set it out last week and there were only three deer in 3 pics (daytime - 11am) for a whole week...no nighttime pics. So I moved the camera to another area. I'm taking my brother and 2 friends out for a late season bow hunt this Monday thru Wednesday. Hopefully we can get them a deer.

When we had that snow here I

When we had that snow here I saw them in daylight. Then ML season came and the snow melted and not a single daylight sighting since. Maybe this cold snap with a little snow coming down again will bring them back out in the daylight.

Just got back from my hunting

Just got back from my hunting trip. We hunted from Sunday afternoon thru Wednesday evening. During the Monday snow and wind I saw 5 doe from the farm house front window at 1pm. They were about 100 yards away and the only deer I saw the entire time. Pulled the game camera yesterday and a full week produced almost 500 pics with most being turkey. The few deer shots were during dark hours. My two friends saw deer while in their stands yesterday but no shots. So my whitetail hunting has ended for the season. It was a good year overall. Good luck to you on any remaining planned hunts.
