I only have a stand shot pic

I only have a stand shot pic of the doe. The only pic of the buck is of the antlers as I had to check it in and immediately butcher it. I'll send the antler shot tomorrow.

Congrats

I finished my Ohio gun season hunt yesterday. Opening day 45 minutes into it I shot a nice doe. The next two days I focused on getting a nice buck. I passed on several smaller ones (2, 4, 6 points) and settled on a very nice 8 point buck. I never saw the non-typical buck nor any of the 10 pointers. Maybe next year for me. Dad is holding off until he gets that non-typical in front of him one more time. Here are two more 8 points I pulled of the trail camera.... I still have archery season and a couple more doe tags.

Congrats on your harvest! I hope you can fill the freezer even more during archery. Sounds like Ohio is the same as Kentucky, with a one buck limit. I can take 3 bucks in Tennessee, but have not so much as seen a shooter, since rifle started. I've seen 6 or 7 small bucks and several does, but the big boys have me fooled it seems.

Now, the area I hunt in Kentucky is covered up with nice bucks, but after opening day, I was tagged out. Funny how much a difference a state line can make....lol. I will take my Ky doe with the muzzleloader this coming weekend or next week during the late M/L season there. Still lots of time (4 plus weeks) of Tennessee gun left so I'll keep at it there as well.

Good luck to all in your late season hunts!!

Nice that you have a long

Nice that you have a long season as well. Our archery deer season lasts until Feb 3rd so I too have plenty of time to fill the remaining doe tags. My cousin lives in Paducah, KY and shared with me this pic of a family friend's buck. You definitely do have some nice bucks down there. The other pic is of my 8 point. Good luck on your remaining hunts too! We look forward to some more stories and pics!

Great buck!

Congrats on taking a great looking 8 point! Looks like it will make both a nice mount and some great chops & roasts as well!  Thumbs up

I have not been out in almost a month. I will be taking the bow out this evening though. If I don't put a tag on one of the big boys I was after this fall i do want to fill all the tags with doe then. So I still Have some hunting to do.

Pictures of 2 does I and my

Pictures of 2 does I and my Colorado (1st time Whitetail hunter) hunting partner harvested the Friday prior to Ohio gun season. Both taken with Horton Legend crossbows using Crossbolt Carbon Express bolts plus really cheap broadheads. Shot placement brought these down quickly after the shot. The bigger one is mine obviously! Strangely nothing was harvested the 2nd two Ohio gun season days. Then my CO partner put down another very nice doe the Tuesday afterwards - 3rd picture - again with same bolts and cheap broadheads - again shot placement counts.
