Allrite!....With all this Luck i've been Bless'd with i kin feel it...Brown is go'n Down this weekend, cant wait for 2day to git over with...Wish all the Acorn's wood disappear 2day....Good Luck 2All !!
It's the same here in NC. When I pick up my bow in Sept, I don't put it back in the case until 1 Jan. I take it with me every time I go hunting with one exception, I don't take the opening day of rifle season. Opening day of rifle is devoted to being a long range predator. After opening day, it goes with me every day.
Dear Deer's,where o where have U all gone...probaly take'n lesson's from WhoDenny,no fresh track's since rain,no kodak momment's...Least where i've been hunt'n....Saturday morn'n nut'n,got down did sum look' round, their not there,DISAPPEAR'd!....Went to spot i have'nt been to,cause i've been save'n it for Taz an she's got deer a move'n over there an hawg's,and i think my Big Cat is back.....Taz dont bow hunt so i've been try'n to stay outa there till crossbow n muzzy to kick in.Got her bless'n an sat in there Sunday on ground with natural cover(like u ManofFall),could'nt stay in there long as i wood've liked to(had to help Pop's with get'n gun site'd),did'nt C nut'n....But there is movemint over there....
Isnt it funny how the deer just know its hunting season. The day before opening morning my wife and i saw a few very nice shooters and a couple smaller ones, come opening day boom they all disappear. we ended up getting into a few small ones and stalked the just to practice the stalking aspect of the hunt.
Yea it's like they have a calender to....Here durin bow season u can take doe's,then 2 week's N2 general gun we have doe week, try'n to take one durin those time's is like pull'n teeth...other than that their run'n all over ya....
Yeah, that calender consists of a sudden influx of sticking hunters. The woods have had a "clean", natural aroma for the last nine months. Now, all at once, it reaks of black powder, cigarette smoke, chewing tobacco, gas and those sticking hunters.
It was a still morning this morning, no breeze what so ever. The fog just hanging in place. Wouldn't you know it, the deer walk out directly under my stand, not ten yards distance. One shooter doe and a spike buck walk out into the clearing and throw their heads up, doing the trademark head bob trying to figure out where I am located. It doesn't take but a minute, then they back track into the cutover. That's hunting.
The does figure out pretty quickly they are being hunted during the doe season. That's why we try to shoot the does we want out of the herd early in the season during bow and muzzy season. I haven't had any luck yet.
Yeah, fooling those big old bucks may be hard but those matriarchial does are just as tough to kill. Most of the times the only reason they get killed are because they are protecting their fawns. Even they they make it real difficult for you. I love putting an arrow through one them because you know you accomplished something.
Whats kinda funny is I always go out the weekend after hunting season end, and guess what the deer are back. I will see them everywhere and they'll just stand there and look at me like there saying "ha ha you cant shoot me now" Its very frusterating. but i guess thats how it goes. smart little critters.
BackPacker,Sticking or Stinking?...O well dont matter,i no what ya mean...But me,i'm not stickin,i'm give'n that vanilla Xtract a try...it B smell'n sweet like me...![]()
Yesterday morning a doe walked by my stand but I wasn't in it. I got a picture of her on my trail camera. heres a nice 10 point that I got on camera. I'm gonna move my camera to where 3 scrapes are to see what other bucks are in the area.
