What's a Red Dot scope? Are you talking about that old scope you looked at with both eyes open and saw the dot projected on the target? haven't seen one of those in a lot of years.

Hi Don,

red dot scopes have a red dot that appears in the scope itself, does NOT project anything onto the target.

here is one I was looking at threw cabela's....
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_D...

The way I am reading oregon regs, as long as the scope does NOT project anything onto the target, like a laser, then it is legal to hunt with. Was curious if anyone else had any experience with them, and if they are any good in the field?

Thanks for any info,
WiskeyJaR

Not sure if that's the same one I'm thinking of or not. I'd have to have some hands on to know if I wanted that. Sounds more like a gimic that may or may not work.

I have messed around with this unit a little and it does seem fairly decent but, you do get a a tunnel effect, from the reticle. I know their not legal in washington but, if the oregon regs are as you describe them it would be legal. Leupold makes one, that might be better but is also significantly more money.
