Question about a pre-64 Winchester 94 30-30

A friend of mine has a like-new Model 94 carbine that is supposedly "like new". It's been in a gun case for 30 or more years. He says it's only been shot about 6 times. I don't think it's a saddle ring carbine. He wants 500.00 for it. I own a 1951 94 in 30-30, and mine is in decent shape, but the bluing on the receiver is not too great. It's tight, with 75% blue on barrel and mag. I also own a 1965 94 in 32 Special. It is about as "like new" as you will find. But I don't want to pass up a good "investment" gun. If this gun is 98% or better, should I buy?........Thanks.

Question about a pre-64 Winchester 94 30-30

It is really only a question you can answer yourself. You alone have to figure if that rifle is worth $500.00 to you based on your intended use of it. You don't need that rifle because you stated you have one the same so you need to decide by examining the new rifle if it is $500.00 worth of rifle over your own. For collecting to make money, any rifle is a hit or miss.
