Putting in for doe tags only in WY

We are planning to return to Wyoming in 2013 for our second antelope hunt.  I plan on shooting only a doe or two this time though when I go out.  I want to spend some time on the P-Dog fields while I am there.

When you apply for your liscense, can you put in for doe only? How much does a doe tag cost when you apply on line and can you put in for more than one tag?

Yes you can put in for

Yes you can put in for doe/fawn only tags and you can get a max. of two tags. It would be a total of $96 for the does and an additional$10 for a conservation stamp. Grand total is $106 for two doe goat tags. Here is the web site to look at the info.

ANTELOPENonresident Doe/Fawn$34.00If applying for license through drawing, application fee must also be remitted. Nonresident Application Fee $14.00.

Actually you can take up to 4

Actually you can take up to 4 does depending on what units you put in for.  You can only apply for two tags in the draw, but you can also buy 2 more for up to 4 in total after the draw or all 4 after the draw when the leftover tags go on sale in July.  It's $48 per tag in the draw and only $34 per tag for leftovers.  The Conservation Stamp went up to $12.50 a few years go and you only need one for the year, no matter how many tags you have for any type of animal.  That's also an email address and not the website for the F&G.  The website is:  http://gf.state.wy.us

Fill The Freezer

Sounds like a good way to fill the freezer.

I hope to have a buck tag, along with a total of four doe tags in hand when I go out to hunt antelope later this year. Good luck Swift and have fun.

I took all but the backstraps

I took all but the backstraps from the doe I shot last year and had the meat that I cut up ground and made into salami at a place near Worland.  I sliced the backstraps and froze them myself and they are really tasty and quick to fix.  The guy mixed some pork in and I got 13 big sticks that were frozen and ready for the trip home in only 4 days for $50.  It has been great and I plan to do that with two this year.  You would never know it's wild game and it is very lightly seasoned to my specifications for my particular taste preference.
