Public Defenders for Animals
Quote:
Last month, Antoine Goetschel went to court here in defense of an unusual client: a 22-pound pike that had fought a fisherman for 10 minutes before surrendering.

These beliefs or people (like Antoine) are not unusual, what's unusual is their government elevates these ideas and gives these people authority to punish.

Antoine cannot in good faith defend a Pike from any Angler unless he is willing to defend the rights of smaller fish from the jaws of the Pike. Don't they know that Pike are a preditorial fish? A food chain exists. We as humans are not at the top of the food chain, but only near the top of it. So what makes anti-hunters or anti-fishing folks think we are in the wrong for taking fish and game?

That is a good point about the Pike. Although with as wacky as this hasn't gotten, I wouldn't be surprised if they start prosecuting fish-on-fish violence.

Hmmm... Think I think we need some of these animal public defenders right here in our country! The wolves need to be tried for torturing elk!
