how do i find out who owns certain private land? i would like to hunt on some different areas that are private but i have no idea who owns them.

Every County in this state maintains a database of registered property owners. This data is usually ascertained thru the county building and lands department, or assessors office. Many counties have online websites which you can use to find who owns what.

IE: http://usgs.spokanecounty.org/pubmaps/

Use these resources to identify property boundaries, property tax parcel numbers, and private proprerty owner name and mailing addresses.

Works great. Get to know the area you hunt...

Use Google or whatever, search by county name like: "Spokane County Building and Lands.... or Tax parcel number..... you get it...

Hunting Tip: Climbing Stand Safety Tip

Here is the scenario... you sit in your 2 piece climbing stand and your foot inadvertently bumps the lower section while there is no weight on it - and it slides down the tree, out of reach! OK, you are safe - you have a string tied from the upper section that you are sitting on and the foot portion that slid 4-5 feet down the tree.
