Great job Tim on your hunts. Looks like you covered some serious country on your hunts.

Tim - I would call that an excellent season.  Great job on harvesting some darn good elk and deer.  The pics of your animals are fantastic.  The scenery shots are beautiful and reason why we live and hunt in these western states.  The mounts shots also very cool.  My next elk set of antlers will be a european mount.  Now if I get my 4 animals this year I too will proudly state that I had an excellent hunting season.  I have two in the freezer and am working on the other two in December.  Pics and stories will follow - guaranteed!  Anyhow - Great short recaps of your hunts and really enjoyed the shots.  Thanks for sharing them with all of us.

Thanks for the kind words

Thanks for the kind words everyone.  I definately worked hard this season.  I love exploring new country and trying to find new spots.  90% of my hunting is solo and i constantly wonder why i keep pushing into other areas, but i do believe that is part of the thrill.  seeing what is on the other side of the ridge.

It is truly amazing how the mountains call to me.  It is like there is this little voice that keeps taunting me and i got to go see where the voice is coming from.

I do need to thank my beautiful bride for allowing me to leave for the weekends during the months of october and novemeber.  I really appreciate it.

anyway i did have a truly good season and i can't wait another 10 months for rifle elk to start.

mountian biking for elk, just flat out works.  I was able to pack a light camp in 2 miles and get away from all the other hunters.  check it out.

How did you get 2 elk and 2

How did you get 2 elk and 2 deer tags? Did you pay the non-resident price for the second tags?  Or is there a special draw that I'm missing?

I did spend the money and

I did spend the money and bought resident nonresident tags.  Idaho allows residents to buy an extra tag. But it is the nonresident price.

You got some good bulls.

You got some good bulls.  Here in the palouse zone i also use a bike and trailer combo to get into less pressured areas, and it makes packing meat very easy.

There is claims that there is a herd of hogs down in the south eastern area of Colorado.  Other than that there was a private ranch by Collbran that did hunts a few years ago but since that time they have been hot water with the Division of Parks and Wildlife and I don't know if they are still offering hunts.  Other than that I don't know of any in the state.

I'd say that was a great season. Congrats on the nice animals.  I didn't see anything with antlers, and didn't have a cow or doe tag.
