pretty decent hunting season.

Well i had a pretty decent hunting season. I eneded up getting 2 bulls and 2 bucks. nothing is huge but all fairly respectable.

the elk season started off with a bang. I packed my camp in on my mountain bike and ended up getting 2 bulls. I purposely tried for 2 bulls. The big 5 will ended up going to my employess. It is kind of hard to give raises, so i gave elk meat. The raghorn 5x5 went into my freezer.

I than spent a couple of weeks wondering around the mountians of north idaho looking for muleys and looking for new hunting ground. you always have to be ready for a new area, when yours changes. I saw a lot of cool terrain but nothing worth going after. Slept in snow and had a grand ole time.

I than waited for the rut to hit and hunt around the house. I got sicker than a dog, but by the time the rut came i was good enough. the one buck is wide the other is tall. I do have some wolf tags, but besides wondering around i really dont know how to hunt them.

Here are some of the pics of game. I will get some scenery shots up on my next post.

Congratulations on what I

Congratulations on what I would consider far more than just a decent season. they all look like great animals to me and I doubt I will ever have the opportunity for 2 bulls in one year. I can and do get two bucks but have to travel to different states to do it. Looks like you really have a great camping and bike set up for your needs.

Congrats on what I would

Congrats on what I would consider a great season. I had a rather dissapointing season so it always good to hear of someone else that had the complete oppsite and I mean that...I struggled out there this year where ion years past I do pretty well...so always good to see other people get it done and fill the freezer with alot of great meat.  Those are all some good looking animals and I would be proud to have taken any of the with gun or bow.  Congrats again to you.  I like the idea of using a bike to haul in and out your camp.

Congrats on some beautiful

Congrats on some beautiful animals!  I had to laugh when I saw the file name on the first bull, the "Bike Bull". I looked at the photo, and thought that you called it that because he could fit a bike inside of his rack.  Geez, he's got a heck of a spread!  Then to see you biked in on a mountain bike, too funny.  I have a buddy out here that got a deer on his mountain bike. He had photos of him packing it out on the bike too. lol

As I said, beautiful animals!  I would say you definately had a "decent" hunting season.  I would take "decent" if it were like that any year. Very nice!!!

I love the scenery photos.  I

I love the scenery photos.  I still remember my first time hunting in the Rockies, about 10 years ago.  We went to Utah, and I loved it from the moment I got out of the desert north of Vegas.  Absolutely gorgeous sights and scenes.

The euro mount looks good.  I have never really liked them that way in the past, but they are starting to grow on me now. Very nice!
