Predator control

I was recently lucky to acquire access to 30,000 acres of prime predator country to hunt. The very cool rancher said the yotes have been wreaking some havoc on the current calving going on and wouldn't mind getting some eliminated. Went out this morning and nailed a couple. Here's one taken at 45 yds a big male dropped with the Mossy 500 and dead coyote. Rolled him hard that DC ammo may be expensive but its death with a good choke out to fifty for me in either one of my shotguns.

Good shootin, that dog has

Good shootin, that dog has some nice colors. I have shot a few with the scatter gun over the years but my go to now is my REM 700SPS VARMINT. Got to say I liked my Sako 22-250 a lot more for being fur friendly tho.
Whats your Black rifle ? 223/5.56 ? 308 ? Cool looking piece

Very nice, good way to kill

Very nice, good way to kill some time and stop the hunting itch before big game. Keep the yotes in check and that rancher might let you hunt other critters.

Thanks

Guys!

SGM, yeah, I already got it approved for me and my dad for antelope this year. This is good since we and many others lost access to the ranch we hunted goats (and predators for me)on for the past six or seven years due to new management.

Possum, that's my new Bushmaster Predator 223 and I am extremely happy with it. I'm going to do a review on it in the firearms section please take a look there. I really wanted to get it's first coyote kill under it's belt but when they come in hard and fast it's so much easier to womp em with the shotgun. I recently put a Carlson's turkey choke on the Mossberg 500 to compare to my Linberta semi auto with the DC choke for turkey and also tried my coyote loads in it #4 buck and Dead Coyote T shot. It gave good patterns with both but the Dead Coyote T shot with that turkey choke was unreal in it's tight pattern out to fifty.

My other two predator hunting rifles are a Savage Mod 10 Predator 22-250 which is scary accurate with my reloads using Sierra 55 gr either SBT's or HPBT's at 3550 fps. And, then my Winchester Mod 70 Featherweight 243 running 80 gr Berger flat base varmint pills at 3,200 fps which keeps 3 shots in an inch at a hundred. Been mainly using my AR's though for the past year.

Cool you found a new ranch

Cool you found a new ranch after the loss of the other ranch. You should do fine on the prairie goats on a ranch that large especially if there is little pressure.
