Post rut tactics for bucks need some feedback?

now that the RUT is over what tactics are people using, anyone still rattling for curious bucks. i went hunting today with a buddy of mine and just as we could see as the sun came up a huge 8 pt came walking down the hillside( out of reach for either of us to take a shot) the buck proceeded down the hill 100 yards to the left past our stands and layed down for about 45 min, while he was laying i didnt have anything to entice his curiosity to stroll on over by us, all i could do was wonder if i had a rattle bag or a buck call what would he have done. he chased a doe away from his area aggressively, just wondering now that the Rut is over what tactics do you all use. Just looking for some hints on how to pursue post rut bucks, i mainly stay by food sources! give me some feedback... Big smile

I don't think that anything will entice or interst a buck after the rut has ended. He has no other interest other than eating, so hunt near the food source.

My vote goes for the FOOD. They seem to get back into their home ranges where they feel comfy and safe and return to their old feeding habits with which ever source is best available at this time.
